Proud to support MarathonManUK
The Putney Clinic was involved in providing the medical care for Rob Young (aka MarathonManUK) during his amazing journey World Record attempt to run further than anyone else in a single calendar year, raising money for three incredible UK children’s charities along the way.
Starting in April 2014 and finishing in April 2015, with his successful completion of the 2105 London Marathon, Rob broke the previous world record by completing 370 marathons in 365 days and amazingly he did this whilst holding down a full-time job!
Our resident sports doctor, Dr Courtney Kipps (shown below with Rob) was heavily involved in his on-going assessments and care and we were proud to help him through the various health challenges he is facing along the way.
Rob completed an incredible total of 10,178 miles, which is the equivalent of running from London to Australia and the words of Dr Courtney Kipps “Rob Young’s ability to run marathons day after day is astonishing. He is re-writing the textbooks.”
Visit the MarathonManUK website to find out more about Rob’s incredible story, including how he has survived a traumatic and painful childhood to become the man he is today.
Rob chosen children’s charities are: NSPCC, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Dreams Come True. He has chosen these charities because they help disadvantaged children in the UK to have a better chance in life. MarathonManUK truly is an inspiration to us all…
