This is achieved by using a combination of neuromuscular soft tissue techniques, muscle stretching and gentle manipulation. Alongside this, Ultrasound Therapy and Interferential Therapy are regularly used to carefully help repair any damaged tissues. To minimise the risk of re-injury, he places an emphasis on rehabilitation exercises and postural improvements.

Tom is a member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM), is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine, and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).

Tom is studying for an MSc in Sports Medicine at St Bartholomew`s Hospital in London.

James Isherwood B.Ost

Registered Osteopath
James Isherwood

Jamie graduated from The British School of Osteopathy in 2004 after successfully completing an enjoyable four-year degree. The school helped him develop a solid understanding of the structure of the human body (anatomy), the way it works (bio-mechanics and physiology) and what happens when things go wrong (dysfunction and pathology).  Since qualifying he has practiced in Aberdeen, and more locally in Earlsfield and with us at The Putney Clinic.

Having spent over ten years in health and fitness clubs across South West London as a fitness coach, Jamie has developed a strong understanding of sports specific exercises, rehabilitation exercises and corrective postural exercises. It still amazes him how a few seemingly simple tips can help people recover and stay injury free!  As an osteopath, he is committed to providing not only good 'hands on' help, but also sound clinical advice and really helping patients understand the nature of their problems so that they can start to get back to normal as quickly as possible.
